Kim Mallee is a Director at Community Power Agency with extensive experience in Renewable Energy Zones. She is recognised as a thought leader in the sector, particularly in the areas of benefit sharing and community engagement. Prior to her work with Community Power Agency, Kim trained as an Environmental Engineer, and has worked across the private and public sector in sustainability, carbon accounting and solar data analysis.
She believes the renewable energy transition offers an opportunity to strengthen regional economies while powering Australia with clean energy, and that public participation and First Nations partnerships are key to realising the vision.
Kim has authored key publications, including the ‘Guidelines for Community Engagement, Benefit Sharing, and Local Procurement for Renewables in Tasmania’, which have set the standard for community-inclusive practices in the industry. Kim also applies her expertise in the community energy sector, she was Project Manager of Haystacks Solar Garden, Australia’s first large-scale solar garden, recently launched in the NSW Riverina.
Kim holds a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering and Diploma of Agriculture.
